Lauren F. Winner is the award-winning author of numerous books, including Wearing God, Still, Girl Meets God, and Mudhouse Sabbath, and a professor of spirituality at Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina. She has spent her entire life asking spiritual questions: Winner was born to a Jewish father and a Southern Baptist mother and was raised Jewish. She converted to Orthodox Judaism while studying at Columbia University, and then converted to Christianity while completing her master’s degree at Cambridge University. She is an ordained Episcopal priest and has previously served as a visiting Fellow at the Center for the Study of Religion at Princeton University and the Institute of Sacred Music at Yale University. Winner’s articles have appeared in the New York Times Book Review, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Books & Culture, and other periodicals.
