Baird-Buck Endowment

The new Baird-Buck Professor of Cumberland Presbyterian Studies at MTS will be specially devoted to researching and teaching the history, doctrine, mission, and worship of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

As the only theological seminary of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, it is important that MTS of all places supports the work of the denomination by installing this new professorship, and it is possible only through an endowment established by  gifts from generous donors

Support the endowment by purchasing The Gold Book and the Purple Book …

Dr. Clinton Buck, Professor Emeritus, has authored Unity and Diversity in Theological Education, which is the “Gold Book” sequel and supplement to the “Purple Book,” A History of Memphis Theological Seminary edited by William T. Ingram, Jr.

The Gold Book, published in 2014, celebrates 50 years of the seminary’s ministry in the city of Memphis and features previously untold stories, biographies of all MTS presidents, deans, and faculty (including “the Magnificent Seven”), lists of all graduates through 2008, numerous photographs, etc.

Anyone associated with MTS or the Cumberland Presbyterian Church would appreciate having a set of these books, and they make great gifts for graduates.

The Gold Book (which comes signed by Dr. Buck) can be purchased for $25 a copy, and the Purple Book can be purchased for $15 a copy. With a purchase of the Gold Book, there is a $5 discount per copy of the Purple Book.
