Online and Distance Education

Do you need a flexible, practical approach to education with a solid biblical and theological foundation without sacrificing spiritual formation? MTS has programs taught primarily online that will satisfy that need.

CHOOSE AN ONLINE FORMAT THAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU

With our degree programs, students are able to choose either in-person, online or a combination of these options that include courses scheduled weekly and monthly.

Weekly Hyflex courses meet once a week on campus and online simultaneously.

Synchronous courses are offered online on set days and times.

Asynchronous courses allow students to access class materials and engage in learning with no set day or time.

Monthly hybrid  courses provide half of the course work online, while the other half comes in the form of monthly class meetings which students can choose to attend on Thursday and/or Friday. Students on campus for the hybrid classes will also have times for worship and shared meals creating a retreat type atmosphere.

Online with one week intensives, the student will participate in three 4-day intensives during their time in the program.  The rest of the student’s learning will be online. During the intensives students will have focused retreat times within their seminary studies to deepen their learning with faculty and other students.

The 3 residencies are:

  1. An introduction to theological studies (during the first semester of enrollment)
  2. An interfaith/intercultural immersion (offered as a variety of courses during matriculation)
  3. And a final integrating seminar intensive (normally near the last of enrollment)

Find specific dates for our intensives in our academic calendar.
