Assistant Professor of Worship and Preaching

Rev. Dr. Shazetta Thompson-Hill has served in key teaching and leadership roles at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, including as Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program and, later, as Director for Strategic Initiatives. There, she taught courses in homiletics, African American prophetic preaching, and theological integration labs for doctoral students. She was awarded both the Woelfkin Professorship of Preaching and the Eli Perry Professorship of Sacred Rhetoric and Homiletics, recognitions that underscore her excellence in both pedagogy and pulpit ministry.

In addition to her academic work, Dr. Thompson-Hill currently serves as Program Director for Residential Ministry at Georgetown University. She leads a diverse interfaith team of ministers who provide pastoral care and spiritual formation within residential communities. Her leadership has enhanced the program’s visibility through the development of innovative systems for training, mentoring, and relationship-building across campus life.

She is married to the Rev. Jeremiah John-Isaac Hill, Esq., and together they have two sons, Isaac and Alexander.
