Dear Friends of MTS and Mary Lin Hudson,
Dr. Mary Lin Hudson joined the Memphis Theological Seminary community as the first woman faculty member in 1988. Throughout these years, Mary Lin has impacted thousands of students from a multitude of denominations to be more effective preachers of the Good News. It costs approximately $20,000 annually to educate just one of these leaders in the Church and our larger community. However, MTS charges our students less than half that amount in tuition costs because of the support of our gracious donors.
We have set an ambitious goal of raising $50,000 in gifts and pledges in Mary Lin’s honor over a five-year period to financially support our students. This campaign will allow us to educate five new students this fall. The following shows how many gifts are needed at each level for us to work together to accomplish this goal.
Platinum Donor
$1,000 annual gift pledged over five years for a total contribution of $5,000 (5 needed)
Gold Donor
$500 annual gift pledged over five years for a total contribution of $2,500 (6 needed)
Silver Donor
$200 annual gift pledged over five years for a total contribution of $1,000 (10 needed)
I am happy to report that we have already secured 2 pledges at the Platinum level!
We want to be able to surprise Mary Lin with this announcement at a special luncheon in her honor on Friday, April 19, 2024. Prior to lunch, there will be a worship opportunity in our chapel at 11:05 AM. During lunch, we will present Mary Lin with a written reflection on her time at MTS along with a list of donors who have given in her honor.
