This year, Giving Tuesday falls on December 3rd, 2019, and we are counting down by sharing stories of our supporters and the work that their generosity allows us to make possible.
Today we begin our Countdown to Giving Tuesday with a story about an MTS supporter, Rev. Dr. Randolph Meade Walker.
Rev.Walker’s MTS ties run deep: “I’ve been a student, an adjunct professor, and a member of the Board of Trustees,” Walker says.
He graduated in 2004 with an M.Div and is the pastor of Castalia Baptist Church, where he has served for over twenty-one years. In addition to offering a recurring monthly donation to MTS, Rev. Walker also encourages his congregation to support MTS. His church hosts an Annual MTS Day, and several church members have taken classes and/or graduated from MTS.
“There are so many things I love about MTS, but I really loved the immersion classes,” Walker says. As part of his MTS coursework, Walker travelled to the Choctow and Kiawa nations in Oklahoma, visited Gethsemane Monastery in Kentucky, and went on a pilgrimage to Israel. “Those classes blessed me in so many ways.”
We are thankful to Rev. Walker for his generosity and continued support!
Please consider supporting Memphis Theological Seminary with a donation. Gifts of any amount allow us to support the formation of faith leaders in Memphis and across the Mid-South. Clink this link to learn more about how you can help!
