Dr. Oluwatomisin Oredein is Louisville Institute Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor of Christian Theology and Ethics at Memphis Theological Seminary.

She teaches the Christian Ethics core course as well as other elective Theology and Ethics courses including “Womanist Theology and Ethics” and “The Salvation of Words: Practical Theology and Black Women’s Poetry.”

She designs classes to be open spaces of both intellectual sharing and communal learning. Within her Christian Ethics course, for example, she allows her students to dictate the direction of the class discussion by crafting in-class questions. This empowers students to think critically about the subject matter with their contexts and ministries in view as well as wrestle with their active questions in real time.

Dr. Oredein enjoys experimenting with creative ways to enhance student learning at MTS!
