Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Coordinator of Children & Family Ministries to lead and nurture our vibrant community of families and children. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop engaging programs, foster spiritual growth, and build meaningful relationships within a faith-based environment. The coordinator will oversee all aspects of children’s ministry, coordinate family events, and provide compassionate support to families navigating various life challenges. A strong emphasis on leadership, communication, and creative program planning will ensure that our ministry continues to inspire, educate, and serve with energy and purpose.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Children’s Council in the selection of Sunday School curriculum and in the recruitment and training of teachers and volunteers.
  • Conduct teacher and volunteer training in the Church’s Safe Sanctuary procedures, including maintenance of required records.
  • Coordinate with pastoral staff to prepare “Children’s Message” during the Sunday morning worship services and other services, as assigned. Responsible to deliver the message or arrange volunteers.
  • Collaborate with pastoral staff to prepare lesson and craft for “Children’s Church”. Responsible for leading or recruiting volunteers to lead on a weekly basis.
  • Collaborate with church staff to integrate faith-based teachings into all activities while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for diverse backgrounds.
  • Plan and coordinate activities for children to foster growth in their Christian faith, coordinating with the Children’s Council to ensure multi-faceted discipleship programs inclusive of VBS, Dayshore, Confirmation Class, and other seasonal opportunities for mission, service, and spiritual development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, volunteers, and church leadership to ensure program success and address any concerns promptly.

Additional Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Compose monthly newsletter article
  • Maintain all Sunday School supplies
  • Be available and visible on Sunday mornings for teachers, students and parents
  • This position will have supervisory responsibilities for nursery workers

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in a similar or related field
  • Leadership experience in coordinating teams or programs within a religious organization.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with children, parents, volunteers, and community members.
  • Familiarity with event planning from conception through execution for church or community events.
  • High School diploma required; College Degree (Early Childhood/Elementary Education) preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Pay: From $20,000.00 per year
