As Paul and I bid farewell to Memphis and return home to Rogersville, Alabama and our Elk River cabin, we are both happy and sad. We have had a blast—what a ride. We have made so many friends and had the pleasure of working with some of the neatest people on earth. But at the same time, we will be glad to return to our laid back lifestyle: a little preaching, a lot more golf, playing on the river, working in our garden, writing, reading and traveling.

I want to thank everyone who has made our sixteen months at MTS such a pleasure. I am grateful for the support of the board, faculty, staff, students and donors. Never in my life have I felt so supported by people and so cared for by the God we all serve. When times were tough, I was carried along by all of the above.

I leave MTS in good hands. I am happy to report that support from generous donors left us with a balanced operating budget last year. With your support and God’s help, we will again this year. I leave knowing that Rev. Jody Hill will provide excellent leadership as your next President. He is one of the most prayerful, deeply spiritual leaders I have ever known.

Paul and I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a terrific 2020!

In His Love,

Dr. Susan Parker
Interim President
