Dear Memphis Theological Seminary Students,

Memphis Theological Seminary is committed to the well-being of its students, faculty, and staff. Given the current conditions regarding the spread of the coronavirus and dangers of COVID19, the seminary will offer all fall semester 2020 classes online, both synchronously and asynchronously.

For United Methodist students in the MDiv program: the United Methodist University Senate has now given permission for you to take online courses this fall from institutions, like Memphis Theological Seminary, who have received approval from it.

The faculty and staff of Memphis Theological Seminary remain committed and dedicated to offering an excellent education in preparation for ministry. Our faculty have worked hard to adapt classes to the online format. The library staff has made more online resources available to students for research and writing. The seminary will also regularly offer opportunities for prayer and worship as a community online. Finally, we will continue to pursue additional resources in support of the seminary and students as we engage in online education.

If you have questions or concerns regarding our move to online learning for the fall, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Dr. Peter R. Gathje
